In short

What does the Conversion Rate Revenue Calculator do?

Conversion rate is the share of your store visitors who place an order. This calculator takes your monthly sessions, current conversion rate and average order value, then shows how much extra revenue a higher conversion rate would bring in each month and each year, and what every extra 0.1 percentage point is worth.

1. How to use this conversion rate revenue calculator?

  1. 1Enter your monthly sessions, conversion rate and average order value. You can find all three in your Shopify analytics.
  2. 2Choose a conversion rate you want to reach.
  3. 3Read the extra revenue that change would bring, and the value of each extra 0.1 point.

What each input means

Monthly sessions
visitors per month
Current conversion rate
% of sessions that order
Average order value
per order
Conversion rate you want to reach
% of sessions

2. How is the conversion rate revenue calculator calculated?

  • Orders = sessions × conversion rate
  • Revenue = orders × average order value
  • Extra revenue = (target orders − current orders) × average order value
  • Value of +0.1 point = sessions × 0.001 × average order value
  • Revenue per visitor = revenue ÷ sessions
Example

A store with 20,000 sessions, a 1.8% conversion rate and a $55 average order value makes 360 orders and $19,800 a month. At 2.5% it would make 500 orders and $27,500, which is $7,700 more per month or $92,400 a year. Every extra 0.1 point is worth $1,100 a month.

3. Who should use this tool?

  • Owners deciding whether conversion work is worth the cost.
  • Stores paying for traffic that want to see the value of improving the page instead of buying more traffic.
  • Anyone who wants to put a number on a store audit or redesign.
FAQ

Conversion Rate Revenue Calculator: frequently asked questions

What is a good Shopify conversion rate?

It varies by industry, price point and traffic source. Many stores sit between about 1% and 3%. Compare your own rate over time, and by traffic source, instead of chasing a single benchmark.

Is the extra revenue guaranteed?

No. It is a what-if calculation that shows what a change would be worth. Actual results depend on what you change and on your audience.

How can I raise my conversion rate?

Common levers are clearer product pages, better images and proof, faster pages, simpler checkout and a stronger offer. A store and funnel audit shows which ones matter most for you.

Should I count all sessions?

Use the sessions Shopify reports for the period. If you want a sharper view, run the calculator separately for paid traffic and for organic traffic.
