A Shopify app detector reads the public code of a store’s homepage to spot the apps and tools it loads, such as review apps, email and SMS tools, page builders, chat widgets and ad pixels. Enter a store URL and it lists what it finds, grouped by category. Apps that run only on the server or on other pages cannot be seen.

2. How does the shopify app detector work?
- We request the store’s public homepage, like a browser does.
- We compare the scripts and resources on the page with a list of known app and tool signatures.
- We group what matches by category, such as reviews, email and SMS, page builders, chat and tracking.
- Nothing is stored. Only the result is shown to you.
A store’s homepage might load a reviews widget, an email and SMS popup, a page builder and the Meta and Google tracking scripts. The detector lists each with its category. Apps that only work in the cart or at checkout will not appear.

Most apps add scripts or files to a store’s pages. The detector reads the public page and matches those scripts against a list of known apps and tools.
Why are some apps missing from the results?
Apps that run only on the server, on the cart or checkout, or on other pages do not show on the homepage. The list is also limited to the tools we recognise.
