1. How to use this store launch readiness checklist?

  1. 1Go through each area and tick everything you have done. Be honest, the score is only for you.
  2. 2Read your overall readiness score and the score for each area.
  3. 3Work through the missing items, starting with checkout and tracking.

2. How is the score worked out?

  • Area score = ticked items ÷ items in the area
  • Overall readiness = ticked items ÷ all items
  • Below 50%: not ready. 50 to 79%: nearly ready. 80% and above: ready to launch.
Example

If you tick 14 of the 20 items, your overall readiness is 70%, which means nearly ready. If the missing items are the tracking and checkout tests, fix those first, because they decide whether your first ad dollars are wasted.

3. Who should use this tool?

  • First-time store owners who are about to launch.
  • Owners who launched but are not sure what they missed.
  • Anyone about to start ads who wants to check the store first.
FAQ

Store Launch Readiness Checklist: frequently asked questions

What should I do before launching a Shopify store?

Make sure products and policies are in place, test a full checkout, install and check tracking, check the store on your phone, and set up email capture. This checklist covers each of those.

Do I need every item ticked to launch?

No, but checkout and tracking should be done before you spend on ads. Items like reviews and email flows can follow shortly after launch.

How do I test my checkout?

Place a real order with a low-priced product or use Shopify’s test mode, then check that the order, payment and confirmation email all work.

Can you do the missing items for me?

Yes. Each missing item links to the service that covers it, and you can book a free call to have it done.
